SOUND METAPHORS 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

PART III

BERGHAIN

Sound Metaphors celebrates a decade with a festival-worthy takeover of all three Berghain floors - showing off Berlin’s music scene at its most intellectually curious and sonically expansive.

The night begins at 19:00 with live music where Berlin dub techno pioneer Moritz von Oswald joins forces with Tunisian producer Azu Tiwaline. Manchester duo Demdike Stare works with dark dub structures and fragmented samples, while Actress—one of British electronic music's defining figures—delivers abstract club music dissolving into futuristic experimentation.

The other floors open at 23:00 with Channel One Sound System presenting conscious reggae and exclusive dubplates, Floating Points weaving house with jazz orchestration, and Helena Hauff delivering uncompromising vinyl sets blending electro, acid, and raw techno. Higher Intelligence Agency provides cozy ambient contrasts on the Säule floor with textures that shaped British Artificial Intelligence sound.

DISSIDENT

BERGHAIN SAULE

As its rebellious name suggests, Dissident embraces nonconformity in sound, style, and social consciousness, fostering a community that centres queers and femmes and their contributions to dance music. Their first Säule edition welcomes Akua, whose sets reject fleeting trends to crystallise techno's enduring pulse into something historically rooted yet fiercely contemporary. Dutch producer Spekki Webu joins with selections from his Neural Network album, alongside Dissident founder Carly Zeng and resident Cryptofauna. When an underground collective is making their Berghain debut, they’re definitely doing something right.

LUNCHBOX CANDY

KREUZWERK

In the words of the organisers, "It's like a rave, but cuter."Known for their kaleidoscopic and unapologetically queer parties, Lunchbox Candy creates unforgettable events with one clear purpose: to create a sanctuary for radical self-expression. Expect jaw-dropping performances, live music, and DJ sets spanning everything from Italo to house, breakbeat, and electro—all wrapped up in their signature gender-bending, freedom-lending, love-bursting energy.

The theme is characteristically silly; ‘LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE’. Get crafty and creative when picking out your outfit—the more absurd the better.
